Main Visa Types

Employment Gold Card

A 3-year combined work/residency visa for high-skilled professionals. Combines work permit, residence permit, and re-entry permit in one card.

Requirements (any of the following):

  • Monthly salary of NTD 160,000+
  • Outstanding talent in technology, science, economics, education, culture, arts, or sports
  • Application fee: NTD 5,380

Work Permit + ARC (Alien Resident Certificate)

The standard work route. The employer applies to the Ministry of Labor.

  • Target roles: Professionals, skilled workers, intra-company transfers
  • Minimum monthly salary: NTD 47,971+ (general professional)
  • Application fee: NTD 500–1,000

No Dedicated Digital Nomad Visa

Taiwan currently has no specific digital nomad visa, but visitor visas can be extended for stays up to approximately 6 months.

Permanent Residency

Available after 5+ years of continuous residence. Requires proof of Chinese/English proficiency and tax compliance.
